Organic Vegetable Garden at NSHM, Durgapur
We have continued our effort to provide chemical and pesticide free vegetables to prepare food. At NSHM Durgapur we have utilized a vast tract of empty land behind the kitchen to grow organic vegetables. This winter we have produced Cabbage, Cauliflower, Spinach, Methi, Fenugreek, Tomato, Coriander, Green Chilies, Red Amarnath, Green Amarnath, Radish, Carrot, Onion, Potato etc. By this initiative along with contributing to a greener campus we have been able to reduce the expense of buying groceries from the market. We have also started cultivating summer vegetables like Okra, Parwal, Bitter Gourd, Red Pumpkin, Runner Spinach etc.
